Residency Uncontested Divorce Requirement
In Texas, an uncontested divorce can only be filed if you meet the state’s residency requirements, which are:
You or your spouse must continuously reside in Texas for six months immediately prior to filing for divorce; and
You and your spouse must live within the specific county in which the divorce lawsuit is filed in the ninety days prior to filing the lawsuit.
