Few situations are more challenging than a difficult family law matter. I help my clients successfully move through these life-changing transitions. Many of my clients are parents and high-net-worth individuals, including accomplished business professionals, C-suite executives, business owners, and their spouses who want to get through the divorce or the family law process with their dignity and finances intact. My overarching goal is to lead clients strategically and efficiently through the divorce process, whether we’re preparing for courtroom litigation, orchestrating a negotiated divorce, or engaging in settlement discussions.
In cases involving children in a divorce, emotions often intensify, necessitating a composed and skillful approach. I guide clients calmly through the intricacies of resolving contested custody matters, developing creative and tailored parenting plans, and addressing the specifics of child support. My experience extends to assisting clients entangled in emotionally challenging, high-conflict situations, particularly those associated with mental health and addiction issues, substance abuse, personality disorders, or domestic violence. With each client, I focus on identifying their priorities and devising practical solutions to achieve their objectives. As a result, clients feel empowered to make positive decisions about their children and take control of their finances as they enter the next chapter of their lives.

Lindsey Obenhaus is an experienced family lawyer who excels in handling complicated financial issues in divorce, including business and real estate valuations, complex property division, and asset tracing. As a former prosecutor, Lindsey uses her extensive courtroom experience and strategic thinking to help clients make informed decisions to achieve the best outcomes possible.
Lindsey is known for her experience with complex child custody cases, including ones that require her to work with child protective services or serve as an amicus attorney or a guardian or attorney ad litem, as well as cases involving interstate adoptions, termination of adoption, paternity disputes, and grandparents’ rights. She is also skilled at handling cases involving addiction, mental illness, or domestic abuse, and she has a wealth of experience with couples looking to create cohabitation agreements or pre-or post-marital agreements.
Lindsey was named D Magazine’s Best Lawyer in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 and was also named to D Magazine’s Top Lawyers Under 40 for three consecutive years. Lindsey is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is a Fellow of the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. She was selected to be a member of the 2020 Dallas Bar Association Women’s Empowered to Lead Program and the 2021 State Bar of Texas LeadershipSBOT Program. Lindsey was also selected to the 2023 D CEO Emerging Women’s Leadership Network, a group of professional up-and-coming female leaders in the Dallas community.

Interests
A Dallas native, Lindsey attended the Hockaday School and earned her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University. She is a proud parent of two little boys. Outside of practicing law, Lindsey is an avid runner who has completed numerous half and full marathon races.
