Can I Still Have a Virtual Court Hearing ?

Aimee Pingenot Key | April 20, 2020

You can still have a hearing or mediation with the restrictions of social distancing and shelter-in-place so long as you have access to a computer or tablet and the internet. Lawyers and Judges are working together to help adapt to new electronic tools such as Teams, Zoom, Skype, and other virtual platforms. Several courts are allowing hearings to proceed virtually.  The Texas Judicial Branch has provided guidelines for setting up and managing Court hearings via Zoom. With courts being restricted for an indefinite period of time and limits being in place for some counties for gatherings, attorneys are also turning to electronic means to conduct mediations and arbitrations.

To learn more about virtual hearings, contact Aimee Pingenot Key at (214) 373-7676.
