Empathy and understanding come first.
I am passionate about families and chose family law to help protect clients’ well-being as we work together to find a personalized solution for their situation. I understand that divorce and other family law matters are not simply a transaction, but a significant life transition, and I offer practical and sound advice to help guide clients through this time to a hopeful future. Communication is one of my strengths; I listen first, learn what is important to clients, and then discuss solutions. Advocacy is another of my skills and I am ready to support clients in and outside the courtroom. Clients can be confident that I am there for them at every stage of the process.
Here’s How:
• Explain the law and simplify what is complex, so clients can feel more at ease and in control.
• Develop a trustworthy relationship with clients to help them understand the family law process and possible courses of action so they can make sound decisions for the long term.
• Advocate for clients and present their cases confidently.
Experience and Professional Credentials
Emily initiated her legal career at Goranson Bain Ausley as a law clerk during law school, where she gained familiarity with the firm’s strong ethics and team collegiality. A graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, Emily further deepened her understanding of family law issues. Her work in legal clinics included representing survivors of domestic violence in family law matters as well as advocating for children in CPS cases as an attorney ad litem.
